The OKCIC Eye Care and Vision Center is staffed by a board certified optometrist. Our clinic offers qualified members treatment for basic eye care needs, such as glasses and follow-up care for those with Diabetes, glaucoma and other diseases that affect eyes. We offer immediate care for minor injuries such as cuts, abrasions and foreign objects. Due to high demand, we cannot treat all registered patients of OKCIC. We must limit eye care treatment to the following groups:
To get eyeglasses at OKCIC, you must have a prescription from an OKCIC optometrist. Unfortunately, we do not fill outside prescriptions. Our clinic offers limited eyeglass payment assistance. We cover $55 toward the purchase of one set of eyeglasses per year. Extra costs or an extra set of glasses must be covered by the patient. We will accept tribal vouchers for the balance of cost above $55. If a patient cannot afford payment, a hardship form can be submitted with the help of the eye clinic staff. Patients have 30 days from the day they receive their glasses to report problems with the prescription. After the 30 days, the patient is financially responsible for any changes made to their lenses. There is a limited warranty on damaged frames for one year. Patients can use their own frames, but OKCIC is not responsible for frames purchased outside of OKCIC. For appointments with the Optometry Department call (405) 948-4900, ext. 275. |
