PHARMACY REFILL POLICY

OKC INDIAN CLINIC

Automated Refill Line: 948-4900 (ext. 325)

Refill Requests:

All refill requests must be made through the automated phone system.
You must know your current prescription number
Medication with designated refills will be available for pick up within 4 working days from the date of the request.
(see schedule below for actual pick-up info)

CAN IT BE REFILLED?
Refills are designated on your prescription bottle. If you do not have refills, your chart will be forwarded to the doctor for review. You may need to allow an extra day in the event no refills are designated on the bottle. The pick-up time you are given is not a guarantee that you have refills. By law, prescriptions with refills expire after one year (prescriptions for pain medication expire sooner). In order to continue receiving medication you must follow the provider's treatment plan & keep your appointments. if you have not been seen in over one year you will not be able to receive prescriptions. Medications that were prescribed through the medical or dental departments for urgent care (same-day appointment, walk-in) are not refillable. Written prescriptions will be given for requests to replace lost/stolen medication that is considered too soon to refill.

INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE TO USE THE SYSTEM
Please have this information assembled before you call the automated refill line.

  •  CURRENT Prescription Number(s) *Keep your most recent Rx bottles so that you have the current number.

  •  Daytime Phone Number (In case we need to contact you.)

TO AVOID RUNNING OUT OF MEDICATION:
It is the Patient’s responsibility to avoid running out of medication. The Pharmacy cannot be held responsible for a patient’s failure to comply with the refill policy.

  • Call when you have a 7-10 day supply left of your medication. Please do not wait until you have a couple of days of medication remaining. This could cause you to run out before your refill request can be processed.

  • The clinic is closed on all federal holidays. Add an additional 1-2 days to the refill pick-up schedule for any week containing a holiday.

The pharmacy understands that on occasion, situations occur beyond a patient’s control and may influence your complete cooperation. However, please remember that abuse of these procedures affects everyone and therefore cannot be allowed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Photo Identification                                                 A driver's license or state issued photo I.D. is required by law to pick up prescriptions for controlled substances.

Generic Drug Policy                                                                                               Patients who receive care at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic do not have the option to choose brand name or generic. You must accept what is available from the clinic pharmacy or you may request a written prescription to be filled at a retail pharcacy at your expense. Generally generic drugs are less expensive but occasionally, because of contract negotiations the opposite is true. In those instances the clinic will supply brand name medications.

PLEASE SEE OUR FAQs PAGE IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS.
