Talking Hearts is a 3-component program that utilizes the curriculum “Honoring the gift of Heart Health”. Three classes are offered: blood pressure education, cholesterol education, and tobacco cessation.
Talking Hearts blood pressure
- One 2-hour class in which patients and family members learn about cardiovascular disease and controlling blood pressure. Call ext. 247 to enroll.
Talking Hearts cholesterol
- One 2-hour class in which patients and family members learn how to eat healthy to improve cholesterol. Call ext. 247 to enroll.
Talking Hearts Freedom from Smoking
- Tobacco has been used for many generations as offerings to the spirits for planting, gathering food, healings and ceremonies, but many of us have gone past the medicinal into daily use. For those with tobacco addiction, it is a hard road to leave. We can help you on the road to a tobacco-free life.
- The class is a 6 week course that starts every month. The class will meet at Public Health in the Corporate West Building located at 5208 W. Reno Suite 185 located on the corner of Reno and Ann Arbor. For more information contact: Public Health at (405) 948-4900 ext. 467 to register.
